چکیده

Visual assessment and recognition of milk performance traits cows are preliminary indicators yield, longevity, as well reproductive abilities the animal, which is very important from aspect economy production. Deficiencies in udder lead to poorer production, difficult milking premature weaning herd. The paper examines frequency desirable scores for a certain trait first-calving heifers distinguished by way keeping (heads reared individual producers/holdings heads on farm) origin (domestic imported animals), influence these two factors observed traits. Five were analyzed: front length, rear height, central ligament, depth total 954 Simmental heifers. Observed rearing, higher all achieved farm, while according cows, was compared domestic cows. housing/keeping origin, examined ?2 test linear (frequency scores) statistically highly significant (p?0.001), analysis variance (F test) showed high significance (p?0.001) interaction method rearing ligament depth, (p?0.05) height udder, however, no statistical (p>0.05) this established other (length udder).

Calving day and age at first calving in Angus heifers.

Because of difficulties in data collection and analysis, in most breeds there have been limited ways to evaluate fertility in females on a between-herd basis. The objective of this study was to determine the heritabilities (direct and maternal) for CD (calving day) and AFC (age at first calving) in American Angus heifers and to evaluate the potential for using these traits in genetic improvemen...

Reducing Calving Difficulty in Simmental

Many factors contributed by calf, dam and sire are associated with CD and many of these are interrelated. Deutscher (1988) came to the conclusion that "the primary cause of CD in young cows is due to a disproportion between size of calf (birth weight) and size of birth canal (pelvic size) of the cow." The relationship of these two factors are presented in the figure below quoted by Deutscher (1...

Udder edema and association with some serum biochemical measurands and dietary factors in first calving cows

The aims of this study were to determine some major biochemical alterations observed in first calving cows with udder edema during the periparturient period and to detect some associations between dietary factors and the disease. For that, the concentrations of some electrolytes (Na+, K+, Cl, Ca2+, P and Mg2+), lipid (triglycerides and cholesterol) markers and lipoproteins (HDL, LDL and VLDL) a...

Comparison of blood and milk non-specific immune parameters in heifers after calving in relation to udder health.

A practical protocol to study udder immune status in field conditions was planned with the aim to assess different non-specific immune parameters in milk samples from dairy heifers during the periparturient period. Five herds located in northern Italy were selected and overall 39 heifers were enrolled in the trial. Milk samples were taken at 7, 14, 21, 28, 45, 60, and 75 days after calving. The...
